4 YearsThis program is a perfect platform to learn, analyze and think critically about various concepts of Physics, and their realization through experiments and explore career opportunities in the multidisciplinary arena. The course structure is designed bearing in mind the new education policy and to recognize, identify and foster the unique capabilities of the students to promote holistic education and development.
Courses offered in the program will provide the opportunity for Physics learners to have expertise in Computer Science, Mathematics/ Statistics and Economics along with the core knowledge of Physics. Under the umbrella of interdisciplinary, ability & skill enhancement and value-added courses, students can gain proficiency in subjects like entrepreneurship and start-ups, artificial intelligence, psychology and human values. This ensures the holistic development of the students as professional physicists. This program also offers minors in Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry and Economics. Students can exit after three years of the program with a B.Sc. (Physics) degree after attaining a minimum of 120 credits.
Department of Physics has state-of-art laboratories in Optics, Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Modern physics, Solid State Physics, Electricity & Magnetism and Electronics and two Centers of Excellence in Material & Nano engineering Research Lab (MNRL) and Advanced Functional Smart Materials Lab (AFSM) to give experimental knowledge hands-on practices and conduct the research in cutting edge areas of interdisciplinary science.
